I'm surprised you're even contemplating a return visit to Yorkshire (although Seren does sell it well....swoooon).

I'm crossing fingers for you for your weigh in!! I feel your pain - quite literally. Washing them, too, is always horrid. I prefer cords and am quite aware that makes me sound like an 80 something university professor and, frankly, don't care.

I smiled - in a rueful kind of way at the Hike of Horror. I probably just would have refused to go when I saw that path so I really hope that SoD recognises your sterling efforts. I'm not with you on the bath thing though - I love a nice hot bath. Although maybe not so hot it causes nausea and heart palpitations...

The Star Inn is just lovely for overnight stays. All the rooms are just across the road from the pub in a building called The Wheelhouse which has a lounge area with a beautiful wood stove, garden, and, most importantly, an honesty bar. The rooms themselves are all different and all gorgeous and comfy. Friendly staff. Amazing breakfasts - a cold, continental buffet laid out and then hot options as well. And there's a cat. If they would let me move in I'd be there like a shot - I could be the human equivalent of a pub cat. They also have little cottages just down the road in the village which are ever so cute - and they bring you breakfast hampers so you don't have to schlep up to the main building in the morning. Put it this way - I didn't bother visiting any other wedding venues because I was so sure that it would be lovely, and my parents liked it so much they are considering holding their joint 60th birthday party there next year.

Oh and thank you for your lovely comments. Tbh, I think part of me is still waiting for it to go pear shaped - I just don't understand how my metabolism isn't royalled messed up from years of yo-yoing. Definitely email soon.

SxSerenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08902775858327076421noreply@blogger.com
